Mandy Watson - 'Kate'
The minute I saw her on Top of the Pops back in '78 I was fascinated by Kate's vocals - no-one else ever sounded like this! But when I bought The Kick Inside, I discovered there was so much more to her than 'that voice.' Her lyrics evoked stories and imagery that entwined effortlessly with unbelievably beautiful and challenging melodies. Ever since then I've been in awe of her. I still pinch myself that I get to sing songs from such a diverse repertoire, with a great bunch of guys who all share the same passion for Kate's music. I get to play Tibetan Bells on Wild Man!
Chris - Voysey
I have been playing probably nearly 40 years now but with a good few years in the wilderness! Not sure I should count the first year or so of fumblings on my first almost unplayable acoustic guitar!
I still have my original 1977 sunburst Strat along with a 94 Strat Deluxe and a Blackmore signature model. Also a beautiful 2000 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe just like the one I couldn't afford back in 1977!
Dave Roberts - Bass
I guess I'm the odd one out as I didn't really hear much of Kate's music until I joined the band, but whilst listening to the tunes in order to learn them I fell in love with this amazing composer. Amazing songs with beautifully crafted basslines, played by great players on all kinds of bass instruments, it would be hard not to love it to be honest. I play a Squier PJ and an Ibanez fretless bass, as for upright, watch this space.....
Michael Mayell - Keyboards
Other ten year olds were out playing football. I was on the piano picking out chord progressions from Never Forever, or banging out 'Sat in Your Lap' on pots and pans in the kitchen. A childhood well spent. Now I'm all grown up I can't believe I'm actually in a Kate Bush tribute band. I hope this never ends! I play a Hammond XK1 through a Neo Ventilator Leslie effects pedal and aim for the 'Kate sound' through multiple splits of six or more sampled instruments hosted on MainStage 3 on a Mac. Everything is played live.
Adam Aggiss - Drums
I have been a professional drummer since 2003 after working on a semi-pro basis for the previous 10 years!
I have performed all styles of music from Heavy Rock to Big Band Swing and have performed all over the UK and Europe to audiences of up to 30,000!
